I believe that there are times in each of our lives when we must lean on others in order to make it through a difficult time. We were not meant to carry some burdens alone, and if you find yourself viewing this website, it may be time to allow someone to come alongside you to offer some relief. There is no shame in admitting that you do not have all of the answers, and often when we are too close, or too used to a situation, the solution will not be evident to us. It takes great wisdom and humility to admit this and consider an outside perspective. You have already taken the most difficult step!
The next step is to find someone you can trust to begin working with on your particular issues. It is so important to know that you are in a comfortable, confidential, and non-judgmental environment. My goal is to provide each of these things for you, so that you can feel safe in opening up about very sensitive topics. There is no discussion that is off limits and I regularly work with relationship issues that include different types of abuse, addictions, and sexual problems. I specialize in relationship counseling whether that is within families or couples, which includes parenting, adolescent, and marital issues. I offer perspective on communication difficulties, value differences, and unmet expectations to bring hope when you may feel like you have tried everything and are ready to give up. Depression and anxiety may be taking their toll on you, and I would be privileged to provide insight and tools to help you cope in a healthier way as we identify the root causes.
Once we have identified the root of your problem we can begin to make goals centered on growth and change. We may not have all of the answers or be able to change everything and everyone, but with patience and perseverance, you will begin to see purpose in your trial. I firmly believe that good can come from every circumstance, and that as difficult as this situation may be, you can make the choice to let it develop your character or your relationship rather than destroy it. You can choose to see the beauty in yourself or your relationship rather than the faults. Together we will see how your weaknesses can be strengths, how your regrets can become your guide. We can pave the way and lay the foundation for an abundant life free of guilt, shame, anger, and bitterness. We will face the unspoken fears, the generational patterns you feel powerless to change, and the uncertainty of the future.
This will take hard work on both of our parts, and I am committed to holding you accountable, and letting you set the pace for the changes you want to make. I will be honest with you, because my goal is not to make you happy in the moment, but to make you joyful for a lifetime. I will encourage you to work deeper than the symptoms and to explore your motives and your values, because I believe we must all take responsibility for our feelings and our actions before we can expect anyone else to do the same. If you are up to this challenge and ready for this adventure, please call to schedule an appointment. I take Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening appointments as well as Thursday during the day.
